The Sgian-Dubh (or Black/Hidden Dagger) is a traditional Scottish blade worn in the kilt hose. While visiting Scotland, I fell in love with this little blade but couldn’t find one that suited my tastes. I wanted something rugged and primal that reflected my impression of the hearty highlanders.
Normally ornamental, this Sgian-Dubh is fully functional. The handle material is all natural and can vary from antler, wood or leather. I also created a unique sheath shape designed to mould itself to the calf utilising more surface contact to keep the blade in place.
